Yuletide Blessings my friends,

This letter brings my heartfelt wishes for a truly joyous holiday season and an abundant New Year. In the Northern Hemisphere, December 21st is the longest night. The Winter Solstice is universally honored with ceremonies using some form of light in traditions all over the world. People have burned bonfires, torches, candles, oil lamps, and today electric light bulbs are strung around our homes. My mother used to tell me as a child that these traditions reassured us that the days of more light would be returning.

What creates the feelings of joy around Yule/Christmas/Hanukah and any other celebrations for the Solstice? Maybe it began with wanting to spread cheer for the people who needed to feel comforted. It seems that it is the good feelings of this holiday time that we cherish and choose to recreate over and over again. We literally build an intention around good will and happy gatherings. What the celebrations all have in common is beautifying the home with greens, singing and sharing food together, story telling and offering gifts, especially those that are handmade with love.

I hear a recurring question: what if we continued to behave in these good-hearted ways for the whole year? No matter what race, religion, political affiliation, tribe or family we come from, “we are all assigned to this precious Earth at this time.” Marianne Williamson’s powerful reminder helps us remember we are all part of something far larger than our immediate lives. My fervent hope is that a significant portion of us can purposely intend to re-create a world that practices the things that promote wellbeing.

In addition I hope we can practice radical self-care, which includes:

  1. Practicing green living, and tapping into the wisdom of the elders who have much to teach about using herbs for healing and eating a predominantly plant based diet. Watch “Remedy” on www.thesacredscience.com.
  2. Learning about our Human Biome and how to feed it well. Watch “The Gut Solution” on www.goodnesslover.com.
  3. Developing into our best selves through mindfulness and self -care, and encouraging everyone we touch to reach their unlimited potential as well.

John Lennon’s powerful words in ‘Imagine’ have never been more needed. Astrologically, we are entering an intense conjunction of Saturn and Pluto that will continue throughout the year 2020. Pluto is transformation and Saturn is structure. So choose your path with intention.

My blessings to you all, Linda
