Happy Spring to all my friends,

This year March 20th is the Vernal Equinox in the Northern Hemisphere and it heralds new beginnings. The first day of spring is also the astrological New Year as the sun enters the first sign of the zodiac, Ares. Spring Equinox is one of two moments in the Wheel of the Year when light and dark are perfectly balanced on the Equator. Indigenous people recognized the equinoxes as transition points from darker days to the coming of more light, and vice versa at the Autumnal Equinox.

In Celtic lore the Vernal Equinox is also known as Eostre or Ostara; it has been the celebration of rebirth for millennia. Virtually all the customs we now celebrate for Easter came from older traditions. Eggs are the most enduring and pervasive symbol for spring in all cultures; they are the universal archetype for new life. The tale of the Easter Bunny who delivers painted eggs to children comes from a legend of Eostre, the Teutonic Goddess of Spring whose name is the linguistic root for the direction east and the word Easter.

Spring Equinox is also known as the time of the Green Fire and can be likened to an electric charge. A new and vital energy is surging through plants; the buds are ready to burst and new shoots are reaching up through the earth for the sun. Just as the sap rises in spring, so does our awareness of our own creative power. At this time, focus on the rebirth of your creativity. Pay attention to a small voice that may be saying, "I’m not creative" and choose to hear a new voice:

"It is blasphemous for any of us to say "I am not creative." All we do is create. We have desires and we create experiences from our desires. We have experiences and we create stories about those experiences. We hear the stories of others, and we are moved to tell our own, turn them into songs or poems or YouTube movies."
Jan Phillips from No Ordinary Time

Keep in mind that you and only you are the meaning maker for your experiences, and the stories you create validate that meaning. At any moment you can choose to create new meaning which would be more in harmony with the self and from this choose to tell new stories. Let the manifesting come from this new perspective:

"In essence meaning making is about training your will, which is the primary vehicle for manifesting in life." Armand Bytton www.lifeessentialsinstitute.com

In this time of rebirth, let us be conscious of our creative process by tuning into the sap rising in our being. Happy Spring!

Blessings, Linda
